power point of GLOBAL WARMING

New Microsoft Office Power Point Presentation

Global warming (Project 7)

Global warming is a serious issue that effects our environment and the planet we live in. in order to save our planet and our lives we need to understand about global warming and its effects on our planet. Unfortunately there are many causes and effects for global warming and in this essay I’m going to summarize what I understood about this issue and I hope that it could help us be more aware and cautious about this problem.

What is Global Warming?

The greenhouse gases are produced by human activities. some of these greenhouse gases end up in the atmosphere, where they trap a certain amount of originally solar energy (which would have otherwise escaped to space), sending this energy back to the Earth raising the planet’s average temperature. Some call this " Thermal Blanket"

What causes Global Warming?

There are several natural causes that influence the temperature of our planet, yet the main reason behind this problem is caused by human activities.

The main immediate global warming cause is the increased concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

first global warming cause is the use the modern human society of the burning of fossil fuels, which is the most important source of greenhouse gas emissions.
The second global warming cause is related to the way we use our land. The three greenhouse gases – carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide .

How could Global Warming affect us in the future?

Many scientists agree that certain consequences are likely to occur if current trends continue. Among these:
· Melting glaciers.
· Rising sea levels will lead to coastal floods and hurricanes.
· new diseases.
· Disruption of animal habitats could drive many plant and animal species to extinction.

How to Solve Global Warming issue?
They are simple things, but can make a difference if everyone does them!
· Re-cycle glass bottles, newspapers and magazines and tin cans. Save them and take them to local re-cycling centres.

· Re-use plastic shopping bags and envelopes, don't get new ones
· Use paper on both sides.
· Try and buy products that don't use much packaging.
· Give unwanted gifts and clothes to a charity shop.
· Don't leave the TV or video on standby.
· Share your car with your friends to college or work.
· Switch lights off when you're not in the room
· Have showers instead of baths

Cool City "Task 6"

Nowadays, there are many problems in the big cities and there are some government moves to build the cool cities to decrease the CO2 in the air. The temperature has increased because the transport is become more and more these days. In this essay, I will write about the problems and solution of the cities.

I will start with the problems of these cities and the transport in the cities like cars, motorbikes, buses and trucks. All of these are making increases in CO2 in the air. Some countries work to decrease the CO2 like Japan and now in Abu Dhabi there is a big increase in population and these people will use more transports. That will increase the pollution in the air because these people must to do their work and business.

Masder Company in Abu Dhabi will make a cool city to reduce the global warming and “It’s four or five degrees cooler. They know how to work with a climate similar to ours,” said by the head of Mubadala’s property division, John Thomas. Abu Dhabi government has spent a lot to build this city and they use in the city the electric cars, buses and metro. People in the cool city will use the bicycles and boats and 90 % of carbon dioxide emitted into the air comes from the buildings and transport. In Japan they reduce 60% of CO2 by SDCJ Company and this thing helped a lot of people.

These cities help us to get a nice life for our children in the future without pollution in the air. I think the Abu Dhabi government is on the right track and they are planning for our future. The UAE is making a good move to help the world deal with global warming.

Summary 3

Traditions affect a lot of women in China. According to the article, a woman kills herself every 4 minutes. China is the only country where the suicide percentage of women is more than men and it’s a fact according to the World Health Organization statistics. Suicide in rural area is more than cities and the reason for that are the poisons which are available in agriculture. The main reason which makes the women frightened of their husbands is bad relationship between them which will end by the wife taking some poison to kill herself. There is a famous saying in China when they consider women like as an animal and they say “marrying a woman is like buying a horse; I can ride you and beat you whenever I like”. These things of course would affect the women’s feelings and they will kill themselves. Marrying is the biggest issue where traditional attitudes still dominate. One organization helps women to describe their feelings and there are some objects they should avoid it like marriage and some information about suicide. Many of them travel to other countries to avoid the suicide and to have an experience in their life.

Mean Idea :
The women in China suicide because their husbands treat them like an animal and the result of that is a woman kills herself every 4 minutes.

Opinion :
I believe that the women should be treated as a human and they should work outside their country to have an experience in the married life, then the suicide rate would became less.

Carbon Footprint

Today, our teacher gave us a site to enter and he asked us about what are we using and our normal days. And I found that I’m one of the big consumers of the earth and I got about 4.86 which means like we live in 4.86 planets but we only have one. That site asked me many questions and then to figure and calculate my percentages that exist on earth. The whole class did the same thing in the same site to calculate the percentages; means example I found that I got 4.86 and friend Mohamed got 2.96 which he is better than me. Another one of my classmates got 3.77 which is also better than me. Everyone got different percentages between each other and this thing depends on everyone’s lifestyle. So many friends consumed a lot and the other almost used nothing. Nowadays, most of the people consume a lot of things, more than what we need. For example, some of them buy a lot of foods and stuff but if he takes what he needs it will be less than a half. So this person is one of the considered people. Another example for consumer people where there are many people leave their home and keep the electricity on like air-conditioning and lights. That kind of people will reduce the resources of the earth which will affect our health in the future. I hope that the people should think before they do anything and I also hope that people should take this issue seriously because if they don't take care of it right now it will be a big issue in the future.

Review of "An Inconvenient Truth"

A favorable review:

As Brandon Fibbs says, http://www.brandonfibbs.com/2006/05/24/an-inconvenient-truth/,
This film is talking about the global warming, and the target of this film is to convince people that the global warming is affecting the earth and also affective the humans. There were many positive things in this film like the graphics and the sound. There were many useful things Al Gore said like when he talked about the weather in the future and explained what is going to happen in the near future with temperatures increasing and ice melting which will raise the sea level and create huge problems mankind.

An unfavorable review:

On the other side of this film many people are like Scott, http://movies.nytimes.com/2006/05/24/movies/24trut.html, who says that Gore is a good speaker but his message to the people was confusing but he found that the worst thing is in this movie was that it was too long and he felt like it took forever. We didn’t know about the pictures, whether they are truth or not.
I feel that there is no reason when he talked about his sister when she died or even when he talked about his son’s accident. Also when he makes some jokes about Bush and other people, I expect that he wanted to collect the people’s voice for the election. So I disagree with Scott’s opinion.
